About Mariana

I am the proud daughter and great-granddaughter of immigrants from Mexico.  I was raised in Southern California, which is where I met my husband, Sergio.  We started our careers and our family there, but we moved to Goodyear 16 years ago to give our children a better life.  Sergio is a UA 469 Union member (Plumber), and I have worked as a paralegal for several Legal Aid Offices both in California and Arizona. I also worked for the Arizona Attorney General’s Office for 12 years. I served on the Agua Fria Union High School District from January 2017 to December of 2020, where my priorities were to expand opportunities for underserved and marginalized constituents and to increase teacher compensation.

The needs and priorities of working people like us, continue to be dismissed. I am a working class wife, mother, and community member. Like the rest of our community, I want good schools, access to affordable healthcare/prescription medications/housing, good paying jobs and clean water/air. None of these issues are partisan and we should focus on these commonalities and work together to achieve them. I was raised with core spiritual and cultural values that guide me in every facet of my life. Those values guide my policy priorities and my vision for a better Arizona. Come November of 2024, I hope I can count on your vote for re-election.
