Environment

All Arizonans have a right to breathe clean air and drink clean water . We must hold polluters of air and/or water accountable. We must invest in clean, renewable energy to protect our health, preserve clean air/water for future generations and our agricultural industry.

We must maximize the role of effluent, gray water, and other innovations in a comprehensive water management strategy. We must monitor future expansion and development to ensure compliance with the 100 year water supply mandated by the Groundwater Management Act of 1980.

Temperatures around the world continue to rise and in Arizona we have experienced deadly higher temperatures for prolonged periods of time. Combating the effects of climate change related to heat, has been a personal focus for me and I remain committed to this issue. In addition to combating climate change, we must also focus on equitable transition to clean energy…there’s great potential for Arizona in this sector.

Our pristine Sonoran Desert and its natural habitats, our wildlife, and our public parks and lands must be safeguarded. They exist for all to enjoy and we must protect and preserve them for future generations. Sacred cultural sites must be protected. I adamantly oppose privatization of public parks and lands.
